IMO we should have a health thread.
Sure enough winter is approaching which means all the snowbirds will infect us with their yankee influenza.
We each have tricks & tips to make those events less painful.
This forum can aid in that endeavor.

1. Get a flu shot <check>
2. Stock up on water, juice and Vitamin C <check>
3. Do your grocery shopping mid-day <check>
4. Do not patronize "Early Bird" specials <check>
5) Ditto to "Happy Hours" <check>
6) Try not to drive on the roads between 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM <check>
7) If you must do #'s 4, 5 and 6, make sure you have plenty of your favorite 'happy juice' on hand to calm you down when you get home. <check>

Ok, so whenever my muscles or joints hurt (usually because of the gym) I take advil tablets. I forgot my advil this weekend and someone gave me their advil gelcaps. OMG!!! they worked even better than the tablets. same strength 200mg, but they just seemed to target the pain quicker. I went and got some tonight and sure enough...success again.
Advil...gelcaps....a must for pain!!!

I worked out yesterday and I am hurting bigtime today. I think it's the worse workout pain I have ever experienced. Idiot looks up a new exercise online and says "Hey, I'll try this one." I can tell it worked! Everything hurts! I must have had too much energy.

What kind of joint pain? How many pills does it recommend?
I work out as well, and I have horrible joint paint. I have pain killer rx, and anti inflammatory rx as well.
I was thinking of trying motrin for the pain, Mr Radio recommended it to me. |

So I bought some Aleve caplets from BJs. They seem to be working, and I don't feel so bad taking them often until my prescription pills. The joint pain goes away quickly. They make me feel a little woozy though.
I would recommend them. |

Naproxen Sodium (Aleve generic) is my preferred over the counter pain reliever. I find that it not only lessens muscle and joint pain, but it is the only thing that will get rid of the occasional tension headaches I get. Usually headaches stop completely within 10 minutes for me.

Well I went to bed with knee pain Monday night, woke up with it Tuesday, and then this morning its all better. Those pills really work. They are much cheaper than an rx too.
I bought the 12 hour pills, I take 2 and that is it for the day. I can work with that. |

| Please be careful mixing over the counter medications with Rx's. Speak to your pharmacist to ensure that there would not be an interaction problem. |
