We went back to the Skip One seafood restaurant after a six year hiatus last night. The last time we were there the Cole Slaw was sour and the old fish had been 'bleached'. Honest Injun!

I ordered the fried Catfish and Scallop Combo with Hushpuppies and Cole Slaw. The hushpuppies were slightly over done, but edible. Cole Slaw was nice, creamy and FRESH this time around. Catfish and scallops had a light batter and was not over cooked, however the batter slid off and I ended up eating both nekkid Had to tip the plate up on one side to collect all the cooking oil from the apparently 'non' drained food.

Sharon ordered the Catfish Platter, grilled, which actually looked pan fried, but she said it was decent.

My grand daughter had the Snow Crab Platter. Lots there but the meat was hard to get out of the shell

All in all it was a so-so dining experience. I guess much better than the tables around us who were complaining about the food being underdone, over cooked, not hot, portions too small, etc......life goes on

I gave up on them years ago. Once upon a time they had good food for a good price.

Ditto to that!

However, the choice was already made for me before we went.

Anyone ever been to "Three Guys" or "Three brothers" or something like that? It is a little hole in the wall across from Page Field in the little strip mall where Office Max is? I only wen there once but it was pretty decent.

Maine's Best Seafood...never again. Got really sick from the crabcakes.

Shells...absolutely disgusting. I didn't get sick but I get sick thinking about it.

I've never had a bad meal at skip on. Once or twice my wifes calamari has been over cooked but that's ben the extent of it.

But i've heard some complaints lately out of other poele. I think it's time for a new cook at skip one.
