We should do a daily Exercise/Health motivational.

Pooh Bear, How's the knees doing???? Its a hard surgery, but worth it!

I must make myself get back in my exercise routine.

Is there an exercise Thread???????

Glad you are doing good Pooh.

Are you getting the knee bent to 90 degrees. And how are the straight leg raises going? Ha Ha just a little PT humor.

OK, thought for the day. Why does a picture or TV make you look 30 pounds heavier. Man, that's it, back to the exercise regime.

Good morning wondering. Guess what. Pain all gone. FINALLY! I hope I did not give it to anyone else. That was the worst stomach flu I have ever had.

Also got a car finally. YAY no more bus. Found a guy willing to trade 3 not running cars for 1 that does run. You have no idea how long I have been trying to get my boyfriend to get those cars out of my yard lol. Problem was, one belonged to his girlfriend who died 3 years ago and her sister was holding the title. She hasn't returned any of his calls in over a year so we were stuck with this car. Fortunately, this guy buys the cars for parts.

that is such good news all the way around...I used to never get sick and there would be a handful of us at work while the rest was home sick with flu and stomach viruses and all and I was so glad that I never got all that stuff.

I am tickled to death about the car. Its way old, but in cherry condition under the hood. No brainbox, its that old which is a plus. I hate to work on cars with brainboxes.

Not to mention the added benefit of getting rid of 3 cars that we couldn't sell lol.

I hate working on cars but I have always wanted to take an old beater and restore it.

After I divorce my first husband, I went to a service station because my car was running funny. They got all patronizing and tried to get me to authorize and engine rebuild. I went to my step dad and asked him to teach me about cars so no one would treat me that way. Have been fixing my own cars ever since although I stopped when I got involved with my boyfriend who is himself a certified mechanic.

BTW, my engine did not need a rebuild. The carborator was clogged.

I'm sorry I spelt cars wrong...I am so tired of editing my posts because of my typing....Men use to watch for women so they could con them into anything...one sales person tried to sell me a car one time for more than the regular selling price...I laughed and told him I wanted an honest salesman..

I would love to have one of the old MG's. I don't know how safe I would feel driving one with all the suv's out there but I always loved them.

I keep telling Mr. Chick I want a Mini-Cooper for Christmas or my birthday but he doesn't seem to think I'm serious...

Well today is day 10 of my Results Weight Loss diet. I lost 3.4 lbs. this first week. Between being ill and the low carb, no fruit part of this diet (only for 5 days) I feel like I have lost 10 lbs! So far it's been working well and I haven't felt deprived until they took away all the carbs & fruit. You get to have "metabolic nutritional supplements" in between meals and everyone I have tried has been delicious, not just okay. They have lots of protein so it keeps my blood sugar stable. I'm hoping to be back in a size 6 by New Years Eve! You don't HAVE to exercise with this program, but naturally it helps.

Anybody try any other diets (Jenny Craig, Nutri-System, etc.) that worked and kept the weight off? If so, please share. I don't know a woman out there who doesn't want to lose at least a few pounds.

Thanks!

It seems to be a healthy diet. You stay on it for a year. There's the "lose weight" part, stablization and maintenance. I didn't realize so many things I was eating or adding to my food was bad. They are very strict about salt & sugar also. The no salt part has been the hardest.

I understand what you mean about gaining weight. I was always very thin until I had kids. I kept 10 lbs with each of them and when I moved to N.C. (home of the everything fried in lard) I gained some more. Although I finally lost it all in 2002 through exercise, weight lifting and watching what I ate, I changed jobs and I was on my feet all day. The last thing I felt like doing was exercising after standing up for 6 hours. And for some reason when I don't exercise I eat crappy food. Now am I paying for it as I am at my all time high.

BTW if any of you ladies want to join a ladies only gym, a real gym, not one of those 30 minute places, Lady America on Pine Island Road is great. It's the cleanest place I have ever gone to. No men allowed, so the machines & weights stay in good shape, no sweaty body odor (LOL), no grunting & groaning to listen to while the guys do one rep lifting 250 lbs.....LOL.

I will check the gym because I need something...watching Rainbo's dancing isn't doing it and I am so tired of being yelled at by my drs adn husband....I have always hated exercise but I loved dancing...I did while I did my housework, and yard work and did it while watching movies and etc...I got back into a size 5 (it fit tighter) the same day I had a 9 lb baby...so I know I should not be fat now...

I never got back into my prebaby clothes until 16 years later! It's a nice, non threatening environment at Lady America. Are you near Pine Island Road? I'm 8 miles away so I just go 2 x a week, sometimes 3 and try to get in cardio at home by walking or bike riding.
